Join us at the Whitechapel Gallery on Saturday 11 November to celebrate the launch of Ayo Akingbade’s new book, Show Me the World Mister.

Ayo Akingbade is one of the artists shortlisted for Film London’s Jarman Award 2023 and will be in conversation with Simeon Barclay as part of the Jarman Now! event at Whitechapel Gallery at 5pm November 11, followed by a book launch hosted by Book Works and Chisenhale Gallery in the Clore Creative Studio from 6pm.

The Jarman Now! event is ticketed but the book launch is free and open to all. Refreshments provided. There is step-free access to the Clore Creative Studio. After 6pm the entrance will be through the Townsend cafe entrance. 

This publication is co-published by Book Works and Chisenhale Gallery, with support from John Hansard Gallery and Ms. Ebele Okobi.

The exhibition Show Me the World Mister premiered at Chisenhale Gallery in November 2022 and has since toured to Spike Island, Bristol and John Hansard Gallery, Southampton. It opens at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead on 17 November 2023, and will tour to the Whitworth, The University of Manchester in 2024.
