‘Thinking about growing up in Gaza, like seeds coming up from the ground, but into an unhealthy and damaging air. It was never safe in Gaza, they never had a chance. I’m sickened our government are still supporting this genocide. I’m frightened for everyone that is in Gaza now, including the hostages taken by Hamas. It must be terrifying for them and their families.’ – 21 October, 2023

Gaza by Rosalind Nashashibi is now available with a free Gaza, Ceasefire Now also by Rosalind Nashashibi and designed by Sara De Bondt, as part of What did you do… (2024) a poster project commissioned by Book Works to mark 40 years of commissions and book making. In response to the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza overshadowing all our activity, we have invited artists to contribute work that speaks to ideas of solidarity with the oppressed, and liberation for the occupied, for a series of A3 posters. Any proceeds from this project will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

Gaza is an inkjet print on Hahnemuehle Photo Rag 188gsm, in a numbered edition of 40 copies, 10 artist’s proofs and 2 printer’s proofs, signed by the artist.
